POWER OF WORDS
1. Click on the red circle to play the song entitled, "Words Are Powerful," and listen to it with your mentee(s).
2. After listening to the song with your mentee(s), ask these questions to engage the young person(s) in a mentoring conversation with you:
a) What is the song talking about?
b) In what ways can negative words hurt you?
c) Do you struggle with negative thoughts? (fear, self-doubt, worry, low self-esteem, etc.)
d) Are you listening to negative words? From where? (social media, music, video, people, etc.)
e) How can you fill your mind and heart with positive words and positive thoughts?
f) What should you be saying to yourself about your hopes, dreams, and your future? Are you saying these things?
g) What should you be saying about yourself ? (who you are and how you are special.) Are you saying these things?
h) What does God tell us about positive and negative words? Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." What does this verse mean?
i) Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
