improve study habits

After watching the video with your mentee(s), ask the questions, below, to engage the young person(s) in a mentoring conversation with you:

a) For every 15 minutes, how much time are students distracted when they are trying to study?

b) What distracts you when you are trying to study?

c) How can you eliminate these distractions?

d) What is habit staking and how can it help you with studying more regularly?

e) What does it mean to be a life-long learner?

f) What does James Clear mean when he says, “You do not rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your systems. So often we think success is about the goal but it is really about the habit and the system that you follow”?

g) How can you apply what he says to succeeding in your classes?

h) What are three of your academic goals for this year?

i) What study habit system will you use to reach these goals?

j) In the Bible in Galatians 6:9 it says, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  What does this verse mean to you?

k) Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
