We have an opportunity to work with an artist (in the music industry) to have music created in the hip-hop genre that will uplift and affirm urban youth and encourage them to pursue their goals and teach them to develop healthy and respectful relationships.

These songs will be used in our mentoring sessions for the "hook" part of our sessions to hook the students into the topic that we will discuss during those sessions.  At the end of these sessions the students will be able to download the songs into their electronic devices so that they can continue to listen and think about the message in the songs.  

These songs will not only be listened to by the 300 students that we currently mentor, but hundreds and thousands more urban youth will listen to these songs as our students share these songs with their friends and as our partners also use these songs in mentoring the youth in their circles of influence.  

We are extremely excited about the exponential potential for mentoring to spread among our urban youth through this music project!  This will truly help us start a movement of mentoring that spreads into every urban community in America.
