MAN WITH NO ARMS

  • MENTORING CONVERSATION INSTRUCTIONS:

    1. Show the video to your mentee(s).

    2. After watching the video with your mentee(s), ask these questions to engage the young person(s) in a mentoring conversation with you:

    a) In what condition was Richie Parker born?

    b) Has this stopped him from having a normal life?

    c) What was he able to do that other kids did?  How?

    d) Fill in the blank: If Richie Parker can do all that he has done in life with no arms, then I can _

    e) What is your greatest challenge?  Why?  How will you overcome this challenge like Richie Parker overcame his?

    f) Did Richie make excuses for not being able to do something?  What did he do instead?

    g) When you want to make an excuse for why you can’t do something in school, what should you do instead?

    h) What kind of attitude did Richie have that helped him accomplish things that a person with no arms usually cannot do?

    i) The Bible says in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Him, who gives me strength.”  And in Luke 1:37 it says, “Nothing is impossible with God.”  How can we apply these verses when facing big challenges?

    j) Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
